The Antilles took a very important step this morning in facilitating the exchange of information on tax matters and prevention of double taxation. This happened when Parliament unanimously passed an amendment in the General National Ordinance National-taxation.
This amendment is about the introduction of the so-called notification-obligation rules on the provision of deeds and documents between the Antilles and other states, with whom there is an agreement on the exchange of fiscal information (Tiea’s) or on the prevention of double taxation (DTA).
It was Minister Ersilia de Lannooy (Finance, PNP) that prepared this amendment and Secretary of State Alex Rosaria (Finance, PNP) represented the government during its consideration in a public Parliament-meeting this morning.
After the amendment was unanimously passed, said Rosaria that ‘he is pleased, because this is an important step towards getting the Neth.Antilles in the world’s top-10 of international financial service centers. “Well-ordered arrangements are also important fiscally.”
