Top law firms keep their positions in global quality ranking

On Thursday the 18th of February Chambers and Partners published their annual Global Guide. For the top firms in the Dutch Caribbean region a day to look forward to and plenty of reason to celebrate, although much stayed the same. All top firms kept their positions and only two individual ranked lawyers were added to the list.

In terms of the status quo, top law firm VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne held on to their position and was granted with a Band 1 ranking for the 11th consecutive time. Followed by HBN Law and Spigt Dutch Caribbean in Band 2. The firms claiming their spot in Band 3 were also the same as last year: Soliana Bonapart & Aardenburg, Brown Lawyers and OX & WOLF.

On the side of the individual rankings, the Global Guide welcomed two newcomers on the list. For Spigt Dutch Caribbean, Maike Bergervoet, head of the firm’s banking practice, was ranked in Band 3 for the first time. For VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne, Roderik van Hees, one of the driving forces of the firm’s commercial & litigation practice, was ranked in Band 3 for the first time. This makes him, 37 years old, the youngest lawyer to be ranked by Chambers in the Dutch Caribbean.
Seven out of the seventeen recommended individual lawyers are lawyers of VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne. Soliana Bonapart & Aardenburg and Spigt Ducth Caribbean each have two out of the seventeen individual ranked lawyers and HBN Law and OX & WOLF each have one listed individual lawyer.
