KRALENDIJK - Today the Court on Bonaire, convicted the man A.S. (St. Eustatius, 22 years) to a prison sentence of 50 months of which 20 months conditional and a probation period of 3 years.

 

The Court considered the sexual penetration of a boy younger than 12 years old, fornication (ontucht) with a boy under the age of 12 and the possession of child pornography (film and photographs) on his telephone, proven.

 

The Court also ordered, in accordance with the Public Prosecutor's requirement, a probation supervision and psychological and/or psychiatric assistance for the sentenced man. The telephone with child pornography has been withdrawn from traffic.

 

The Public Prosecution (OM) is in agreement with the punishment. The OM takes the abuse of minors very seriously.

The case was handled on Bonaire as the suspect from Statia was awaiting his courtcase in Bonaire’s prison.
