Dutchcaribbeanlegalportal.com

There is a large legal community in the Dutch Caribbean and in Suriname. Until 2007 there was no website with news and general information about the legal system of the region, its institutions and its practitioners. Dutch Caribbean Legal Portal aims to fill this void and strives to be the complete database of Legal News, Ordinances and case law for the Dutch Caribbean and Suriname.

Our portal has a wide variety of members and contacts within the legal and financial arenas. We have a database of more than 400 legal organizations, lawyers and associations, trust companies and other legal & financial institutions in the region. On our portal under “Law firms and services” you will find addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, and sometimes additional information of these organizations.

We also provide the latest news, background information, a databank with legal contacts and a databank with laws and ordinances. We are also the exclusive website to provide annual law firm rankings (measured in the number of lawyers) relating to both the Dutch Caribbean and Suriname as a whole and for each jurisdiction individually. We also aim to provide information on general and specific change with respect to law firms active in the region. Obviously, this website is distinguishing, because it is the only website offering this type of information. In addition, we continuously try to expand the different fields on which information is offered and keep all the information duly updated.

The site is aimed at national and international organizations and individuals. In order to give access to a broad audience, the language of the site is English. However it may occur that some of the articles,
ordinances and jurisprudence you will find on the website are in Dutch, since this is a common  language in both the Dutch Caribbean and in Suriname.

Stay in touch and up-to-date with legal activities in the Dutch Caribbean and Suriname and subscribe here to the Dutch Caribbean Legal Portal Newsletter.
