ST. EUSTATIUS--In carrying out the Island Council’s motion of November 30, 2016, the Executive Council on Wednesday presented the Dutch Government with a formal petition against the process of embedding the public entities of Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba in the Dutch Constitution.

WILLEMSTAD--The planned meeting of Curaçao’s Parliament started and quickly ran out of control on Wednesday. Interim President Humhprey Davelaar (PNP) opened the proceedings and immediately went over to the order of the day, but opposition members intervened and were ultimately removed from the building.

PHILIPSBURG - The suspect Francisco Corallo (56) remains in detention. The judge of instruction on Friday, December 15, 2016 deemed his detention lawful. Corallo was arrested on December 13 by the Anti-corruption Taskforce (TBO) of the Kingdom Detectives Cooperation Team (RST) at the request of Italian authorities.

PHILIPSBURG--Gaetano Corallo, father of businessman Francesco Corallo, was not surprised to hear about his son’s arrest on Tuesday.
