Biography


Michiel Gorsira joined Van Doorne in Rotterdam in 1981. In 1985 he moved to Curaçao and joined VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne, where he was appointed partner with the firm in 1988.

He was Secretary (July 1988-June 1992) and later President (January 1995-June 1997) of the Curacao Bar Association. He was also President of the Foundation for Professional Training of Lawyers admitted to the Netherlands Antilles Bar (June 1996-June 1997). Furthermore he was a member of the editorial staff of the Netherlands Antilles law journal TAR-Justicia, a member of the Supervisory Board for Lawyers admitted to the Bar of the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba (April 1995-June 1997) and also a member of two Governmental Advisory Committees on the Curacao Militia and the Netherlands Antilles Social Security Bank.

In June 1997 he returned to the Netherlands, where he joined Simmons & Simmons, until his return to VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne in Curaçao in May of 2008.
