Notary Office Boekhoudt in Sint Maarten has a vacancy for a 
The Compliance Officer (CO) plays an important role in the office. The CO is the person who applies and adopts the AML/CFT obiligations, operates independently and is the main office contact for the FIU.
The CO has various duties and responsibilities, amongst which to:
  • Implement and execute the compliance regime and associated activities;
  • Organize training sessions for staff and management on internal procedures and various compliance related issues;
  • Receive internal unusal transaction reports from the staff and assess them on their completeness and correctness;
  • Write a procedure to follow after an unusual transaction has been identified;
  • Investigate unusual transactions and document the findings;
  • Report the unusual transaction to the FIU;
  • Remain informed of local and international developments on money laundering and terrorist financing and make suggestions to management;
  • Assist in the screening of new employees;
  • Carry out risk assessments.
We are looking for someone with at least 1 to 2 years work experience as an indepedent Compliance Officer, preferably a jurist with the necessary Compliance certifications.
