Two awards for Van Doorne

The law firm Van Doorne in Amsterdam recently received two prestigious awards: the Chambers Europe Client Service Award The Netherlands and the “Gouden Spreekbuis” 2010.

Chambers Europe Client Service Award The Netherlands

Last week the presentation of the annual Chambers Europe Awards took place in London. Chambers is one of the leading international reference guides for the legal profession and an important reference work for corporate lawyers. Each year, Chambers conducts an independent study into the quality of law firms. The outcome hereof is also decisive for the firms’ reputation and being known. Based on feedback from its relations, Van Doorne was awarded the Client Service Award for The Netherlands this year. A nice sign that the legal services of Van Doorne and the way in which it cooperates with clients are appreciated.

“Gouden Spreekbuis” 2010

At the same time, the presentation of the “Gouden Spreekbuis” 2010 took place, which is awarded per sector to the employer that has gone through the largest development with regard to being known, image, and preference. The prize is presented each year by research agency Blauw after a study among law students. Van Doorne ended first place. Allen & Overy took home the second prize and Loyens & Loeff won the third prize.

From the study report: “In the student’s opinion Van Doorne offers good training opportunities and is not arrogant. Students also expect more varying and responsible work with Van Doorne more often than with other firms. The lack of arrogance seems to correspond with the extent to which students regard Van Doorne as an accessible firm with a pleasant working atmosphere where everyone can be himself. Van Doorne is very different from the other firms in all these aspects, and consequently has taken a special, somewhat “softer” position on the job market. The pleasant atmosphere in which employees can be themselves, combined with good training opportunities, are the most important success factors in Van Doorne’s image. For it applies to these parts of the image that they score above average and that they are considered important by students.”

This prize is again a confirmation that the personal approach and recruitment campaign of Van Doorne appeal to the target group, but mainly also that Van Doorne knows how to present itself in a different and effective way.
