SPIGTHOFF CELEBRATES 10 YEARS IN BUSINESS
Speech by Karel Frielink, January 10, 2011

Your Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen, Members of the Press, Friends and Colleagues!

First of all, on behalf of the staff and management of Spigthoff, I want to sincerely wish all of you nothing but health and happiness in the New Year.

2011 will not be an easy year; it will in fact be a very challenging year.

Today we celebrate the 10th anniversary of Spigthoff.

10 years and 10 days ago we started this firm with the objective of providing quality services, always on the ball, easy-going but tough, and even aggressive, when that is the most effective way to get the results, and our clients can always expect good value for money.

Despite what many think, the plans to start this firm were made here in Curacao, and the Curacao office was fully up and running before the first desks and chairs arrived at the Amsterdam office.

When we started this firm here in Curacao, we also made a commitment. As a firm and as individuals we would contribute to the development of this great country. And we keep on doing that as a part of our social responsibility.

Curacao gained its current status on 10-10-10. A new journey has started on a route never taken before. Let us all take pride in our heritage and let us embrace our new country.

The task of building a nation with freedom, opportunity and justice for all is a great endeavor that has to include us all. All our citizens are needed; everyone has something to offer. Every single citizen is important, everyone is special, and shall be included. We are one people. There is plenty of room for all of us. Let us inspire, strengthen, and encourage one another to bring out the best in us.

Though there may be many challenges on the way, together I am sure we will succeed!
