Drie aanhoudingen in mensenhandelzaak Bonaire

KRALENDIJK - Op Bonaire zijn dinsdag drie mensen aangehouden die verdacht worden van mensenhandel. Zij zouden vrouwen seksueel hebben uitgebuit in een bordeel op het eiland. Dat laten de politie, justitie en de marechaussee weten in een gezamenlijk persbericht.

 
Het gaat om de eigenaar en twee werknemers van het bordeel Paradise Inn, dat lokaal beter bekend is als Pachi's Place. Dinsdag zijn er meerdere huiszoekingen verricht waarbij verschillende goederen in beslag zijn genomen.
 
Het onderzoek is nog in volle gang. De marechaussee sluit meerdere aanhoudingen niet uit. De verdachten worden donderdag voorgeleid aan de rechter-commissaris op Bonaire.

THE HAGUE--The law initiative to restrict the registration of immigrants from the Dutch Caribbean countries unfairly targets people from Aruba and St. Maarten because they are not the ones causing problems in The Netherlands, according to the Council of State (Raad van State).

Governor to swear in new ministers today

PHILIPSBURG - The Wescot-Williams III Cabinet will be sworn in today, Friday, at 4:00pm, by Governor Eugene Holiday at his office at Harbour View. After taking the oath, the new ministers together with Holiday will have the constituting meeting of the Council of Ministers in the A.C. Wathey Legislative Hall.
