Second arrest in Cupecoy murders

PHILIPSBURG--Police have made a second arrest in the murders of South Carolina couple Michael and Thelma King. A press release from Chief Prosecutor Hans Mos stated that J.C.M. (17) had been arrested around 3:45pm Monday 1 October, after police carried out an intensive search last weekend and Monday.
J.C.M. had been considered a suspect since last week and was arrested in the Cole Bay area. "Further arrests cannot be excluded," the press release said.
The first suspect arrested, M.K.J. (28), will be led before the Judge of Instruction on Wednesday 3 October, when the prosecution will ask the judge to order his pre-trial detention, the press release concluded.
Michael and Thelma King were found stabbed to death in their beachfront condominium on Friday 21 September.
Tweede arrestatie in Cupecoy zaak
PHILIPSBURG - De politie op Sint Maarten heeft maandag een tweede verdachte opgepakt voor de moord op twee Amerikanen. Het gaat om een 17-jarige jongen, die vorige week in beeld kwam als mogelijke moordenaar.
Het Openbaar Ministerie sluit niet uit dat er meer arrestaties volgen. Enkele dagen na de moord op het Amerikaanse echtpaar was al een 28-jarige man opgepakt. Hij wordt woensdag voorgeleid.
Michael en Thelma King (57 en 53 jaar) werden op 21 september dood gevonden in hun strandhuis op Sint Maarten. Ze waren doodgestoken. Het motief is nog niet duidelijk.
