Questions about BTP"s expenses

Why did the 2009 budgeted expenses and income for the Bureau Telecommunication and Post (BTP) increase this much? This was one of the questions that came up for discussion during the consideration of the National budget 2009 in the Central Committee of Parliament.

Parliament-member Dwigno Puriel (MAN) noticed that there are many shifting in the expense and revenue items for BTP in the chapter Traffic and Communication. The regular service shows that BTP’s expenses in 2008 are 14.6 millions, but in 2009, an increase is considered to 26.5 millions.
Also the revenue show a striking increase: from 13.1 million guilders in 2008 to 24.5 millions in 2009. “This is a striking increase and I would like to hear from the minister what’s going on.”

The consideration in the Central Committee is for an outsider kind of boring. There are questions about expenses and revenue per charter per page. The policy items are not considered, only the figures part of the budget. The policy matters will come up in the general considerations of the Parliamentary parties that are being added to the report of the Parliament meeting.
