VANEPS KUNNEMAN VANDOORNE PRIZE FOR BEST THESIS AWARDED TO ARRIËN LEKKERKERKER

WILLEMSTAD - On Monday, June 24, last, the VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne Prize was awarded for the thirteenth time. This year the prize went to Arriën F.E. Lekkerkerker.

 
Lekkerkerker received the prize for his thesis titled “Comply or Explain? De Modelstatuten voor Overheids-NV’s op Curaçao in verhouding tot de regels van Corporate Governance en Boek 2 BW(Comply or Explain? The Model Statutes for Public Limited Companies in Curaçao in relation to the rules of Corporate Governance and Book 2 Civil Code).” 
 
The prize is awarded each year for the best final thesis of the Law Faculty of the University of the Netherlands Antilles. 
                                      
With this prize the law firm rewards excelling students for their hard work, writing a paper with both a scientific and a social contribution.
The winner receives a check, as well as a certificate as a lasting keepsake. The best paper is selected by a committee specifically appointed for this purpose. The committee not only reviews the thesis as to legal quality, but also as to creativity and the social relevance of the
