Ban Topa for legal students and young professionals well received

During the recent holiday season, law firm VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne organized a Ban Topa networking reception for (prospective) law students and young professionals.

The reception was attended by local students and professionals, as well as visitors from the Netherlands with roots in the Caribbean, who were back in Curacao for the holidays. Pre-university students, who will enroll in law school after their exams, also attended to ask students and professionals about their experiences.

The Ban Topa led to an enthusiastic response. The attendants indicated to appreciate the accessible nature of the networking reception. For instance the situation in the labor market in the Netherlands versus the
Caribbean was freely discussed, and the legal profession was compared with the work of a corporate lawyer.

Students at the University of Curacao and the various Dutch universities shared their experiences about studying in the Netherlands versus Curacao with pre-university students currently facing this choice.

VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne regularly organizes in-house days and activities, such as moot courts, to allow students and entry-level workers to get acquainted with the legal profession and the firm. The firm also
provides two two-monthly trainee posts throughout the year for master students at the University of Curacao and the Dutch universities.
