New chairman Cifa

State secretary Alex Rosaria (Finance, PNP) congratulates Bryan Irausquin with his election as new chairman of the Curaçao International Financial Services Association (Cifa). During a first conversation with the new chairman, the secretary indicated that he was looking forward to a good cooperation.

As far as Rosaria is concerned, he hopes the promotion of the (international) interest of local financial services may continue to be as flexible and productive as was the case with departing Cifa-chairman Herman Behr.
Rosaria wishes Behr success and satisfaction in his further activities now that he has concluded his period with the Cifa whereby much was achieved.
The state secretary discussed all possible changes in the offshore sector with Irausquin. “The offshore will face changes. This sector exists nearly 100 years and will anyhow remain – even after the aftermath of all uproar in the international financial markets has ended.
“How our offshore sector will develop, depends on our watchfulness, our ability to anticipate important developments and to which extent and how efficiently and effectively we collectively approach business,” states Rosaria.

Rosaria hereby expressed his optimism and declared to have complete confidence that with Irausquin occupying this post, business will be successful.
