First three primary schools on Bonaire receive approval for Inspectorate

BES ISLANDS - Kolegio San Luis Bertrian, Kolegio San Bernardo and De Pelikaan, as the three primary schools on Bonaire, have their education in such good standing that they have passed The Inspectorate's basic quality inspection.

State Secretary Sander Dekker (Education) reacts pleased: "This is very good news. Good news for the pupils at these schools, which now get the good education to which they are entitled.

Good news for the involved teachers, school leaders and school directors who have worked very hard to achieve this result. And it is also good news for the island of Bonaire, because good education is an important condition for future prosperity and well-being for society as a whole. "MinOCW SanBernardo

In keep with tradition, RCN Education, Culture and Science (RCN/OCW) will celebrate this beautiful achievement with the three schools in a festive manner.

More and more schools in the Caribbean Netherlands know how to get their education to a sufficient level.

In 2013 Fundashon FORMA on Bonaire (Institute for education, including adult education and social opportunity for young people) was first to reach the basic quality level.

In 2014 The Golden Rock Catholic School for primary education on St. Eustatius also reached this milestone. The Inspectorate expects that between now and 2016 different educational institutions, on all three islands of Caribbean Netherlands, will follow.

The Inspectorate visits all training institutes in the Caribbean Netherlands twice a year, in the framework of the quality level that the schools are to achieve to remove the learning and development backlogs.

The quality goals were laid down in the Education Agenda, entitled "Working together for quality" in March 2011.

The aim is that by 2016, as much as possible, educational institutions in the Caribbean Netherlands will have achieved the basic quality.
