Urgent Parliament meeting requested about NIPA issue

PHILIPSBURG--An urgent Parliament meeting has been requested about issues related to the National Institute for Professional Advancement (NIPA) by Members of Parliament (MPs) Leona Marlin-Romeo (independent), Cornelius de Weever (independent), and Tamara Leonard (United People’s party).
 
The February 2 letter was sent to Parliament Chairperson Sarah Wescot-Williams with a specific request for Minister of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports Silveria Jacobs to attend the sitting of Parliament.
 
The MPs said in a press statement that Jacobs is requested “to give an account on the ongoing issues as the reputation, the continuity of NIPA and the quality of education is at stake.”
 
NIPA is faced with management and financial dilemma, court cases and other troubles.
