Police cite a ‘downward trend’ in crime for 2012

PHILIPSBURG--New measures to tackle crime such as the implementation of special police teams, community policing and improvement of response time at the police station have been cited by the police as the reason for a "downward trend" in crime in 2012 compared to 2011 and 2010.

NETHERLANDS - Het Openbaar Ministerie (OM) in Amsterdam heeft een officieel onderzoek ingesteld naar de vermeende identiteitsroof en de daarop volgende bedreigingen van studente van de Vrije Universiteit (VU) Natalja Laurey. Uit het onderzoek moet naar voren komen wie eind december uit naam van de studente anti-moslimtweets rondstuurde.

WILLEMSTAD--President of Curacao's Bar Association Caroline Fiévez presented a rough draft for a new national ordinance regarding lawyers to Minister of Justice Nelson Navarro recently. The existing legislation on attorneys from 1959 is outdated and should have been revised years ago.

Caroline Fiévez, een voorontwerp voor een nieuwe Advocatenlandsverordening aangeboden aan de Minister van Justitie, mr. Nelson Navarro. PHILIPSBURG - Today the head of the National Detectives office, a senior detective and the Chief Public Prosecutor interviewed Minister Roland E. Duncan as a witness in the alleged Bada Bing bribery investigation. Simultaneously the head of the IND, Udo Aron, was also interviewed as a witness by detectives of the National Detectives office.
