PHILIPSBURG - Last Friday Eric Jansen of BZSE Attorneys at Law & Tax Lawyers has been sworn in as an attorney at the Joint Court of Justice of Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten and of Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba.

Jansen was already a tax lawyer at BZSE.

He studied law at the University of Tilburg. After his graduation he worked at tax advisory firms and the Inspectorate of Taxes in the Netherlands and Netherlands Antilles.

BZSE, founded in 2009, is the largest law firm in Sint Maarten and now has 10 attorneys at law.

The firm consists of managing partners Roeland Zwanikken and Joeri Essed, partners Rik Bergman, Jelmer Snow and Gert Bergman (tax lawyer), and associates Eric Jansen (tax lawyer), Camiel Koster, Pieter Soons, Christian de Jong and Norbert Hijmans (attorneys at law).

Independence and integrity are paramount to the lawyers of BZSE. They operate and litigate in an open, transparent and independent manner in order to represent the best interests of their clients. This has provided the lawyers of the office with a strong reputation, notably among local and international corporate clients.

Quality, continuity and stability are the foundations of the personalized approach by BZSE. In both the civil law as well as in the tax practice, the attorneys and tax lawyers have many years of outstanding service in Sint Maarten. Most of them have linked themselves permanently to the island.

As per 1 January 2015 BZSE will also establish an office in Curaçao, managed by partner Karel Frielink.
