Three new lawyers VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne

Three new lawyers joined VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne in August and September: beginning lawyers Tiffany de Palm and Brenda Stuart, and experienced litigator Roderik van Hees.

Tiffany de Palm was born and raised in Curacao and left for the Netherlands to study law there. In 2015 she obtained her master’s degree in law at Tilburg University. Before her departure for the Netherlands, Tiffany had already made up her mind to return to the island where she was born after graduation, and for this purpose she had a six-month internship with the Land Registry Office in Curacao during her studies. With her start with VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne in August, she brought this intention into practice.

Roderik van Hees has worked as a lawyer since 2008 and was employed with NautaDutilh and the firm Lemstra Van der Korst specialized in procedural law. He is specialized in dispute resolution in the area of business law and law of obligations, and was involved in several major and high-profile legal proceedings in the Netherlands. Examples are the liability proceedings and parliamentary inquiry regarding housing association Vestia and the proceedings following the expropriation of SNS REAAL. Roderik regularly publishes, mainly in the area of international private law. He was vice-president of the Young Bar in Amsterdam.

Like Roderik, Brenda Stuart also started with the Curacao office of VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne in September. Brenda obtained her master’s degree in Private Law Practice at University of Amsterdam in 2014. She subsequently worked as a lawyer with Eiffel in the Netherlands, mainly in the areas of employment law, public service law, and administrative law. During her studies, Brenda was particularly socially active. She completed social work and services studies and was an au pair in America, private tutor European Law, and editor with Legal360 (an online community for the legal professional).

Brenda joined the Corporate & Banking section of VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne. Tiffany and Roderik started in the Litigation & Commercial section.
