The Dutch Caribbean Legal Portal annually composes a ranking of law firms in the Dutch Caribbean (Aruba, Curaçao, Bonaire, St. Maarten, St. Eustatius and Saba) based on the number of lawyers employed by such. Tax lawyers and civil law notaries are not included.

The Dutch Caribbean Legal Portal annually composes a ranking of law firms in the Dutch Caribbean (Aruba, Curaçao, Bonaire, St. Maarten, St. Eustatius and Saba) based on the number of lawyers employed by such. Tax lawyers and civil law notaries are not included.

Interesting conclusion is that six out of the top ten largest law firms have increased in size since 2010.

Of these six, the number one firm in the top, VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne has grown significantly. VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne is therefore at this moment the largest firm in the Dutch Caribbean, while it shared first place with HBN Law last year. VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne has grown with 27 %, from 26 in 2010 to 33 lawyers.
Number 2 on the list, is HBN Law, increased to 28 lawyers, compared to 26 last year. Number 3 in size is Spigthoff Attorneys and Tax Advisers, employing 14 lawyers this year, compared to 12 last year. Number 4 on the list, Soliana Bonapart Aardenburg, increased to 12 lawyers, compared to 11 last year. Number 5, David Kock Legal, grew with 228 % to 11 lawyers (from 9 last year).

New on the list is Scheper & Inderson Attorneys at Law, a firm started in July of this year and now consisting of 4 lawyers. Also new are FWC Legal, with 3 lawyers, and BBV Legal, also with 3 lawyers.

Of the Top 25 law firms 13 have their main office on Curaçao, 7 on Aruba and 5 on St. Maarten.

Furthermore it is remarkable that of all the firms in the Top 25 mainly the law firms on Curacao seem to have experienced a growth. On the other islands most of the firms remain steady in terms of number of lawyers.

At the Joint Court of Justice of Aruba, Curaçao and St. Maarten and Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba approximately 350 lawyers are officially registered. Of these lawyers, 185 are working at law firms on Curacao (ca. 55 %). These 185 lawyers are working at circa 85 law firms. In Aruba there are approximately 100 lawyers registered (28 %), in Sint Maarten 60 (17 %) and in Bonaire approximately 10 (3 %).
