PHILIPSBURG - In connection with the ongoing investigation into the interception at sea of more than 200 kilos of a drug-like substance perceived to be cocaine by the Dutch Royal Navy in collaboration with the Caribbean Coastguard on Saturday, January 21, 2017, a number of searches were carried out on Sunday, January 22 and Tuesday, January 24 on both the Dutch side as well as the French side of St. Maarten.

PHILIPSBURG - Zr. Ms. Holland, het stationsschip van de marine dat op dit moment met een boarding team van de Kustwacht haar taken uitvoert in het Caribisch Gebied, heeft op zaterdag 21 januari, 220 kilo vermoedelijk cocaïne onderschept. In de afgelopen periode heeft de Holland al meerdere drugstransporten succesvol verstoord.

THE NETHERLANDS - De fiscale opsporingsdienst FIOD heeft vrijdag een inval gedaan bij scheepsbouwer Damen Shipyards in Gorinchem.

PHILIPSBURG - The suspect Francisco Corallo (56) remains in detention. The judge of instruction on Friday, December 15, 2016 deemed his detention lawful. Corallo was arrested on December 13 by the Anti-corruption Taskforce (TBO) of the Kingdom Detectives Cooperation Team (RST) at the request of Italian authorities.

PHILIPSBURG--Gaetano Corallo, father of businessman Francesco Corallo, was not surprised to hear about his son’s arrest on Tuesday.

PHILIPSBURG - The searches in St. Maarten led by the investigative Judge that have taken place on December 13, 2016, have been completed. Suspect F.C. (56) who was arrested by the Anti-corruption Taskforce (TBO) of the Kingdom Detectives Cooperation Team (RST) at the request of Italian authorities is still in custody.

PHILIPSBURG - The searches in St. Maarten that started this morning and are being led by the Judge of Instruction are still ongoing. The home of the suspect Francesco Corallo (56) born in Italy is one of the premises that is being searched.

PHILIPSBURG - The Anti-corruption Taskforce (TBO) of the Kingdom Detectives Cooperation Team (RST) are conducting searches since early in the morning of Tuesday, December 13.

THE HAGUE--Victims of violent crimes in Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba might very well become entitled to damages from the Compensation Fund of the Dutch Government in the future. Dutch Minister of Security and Justice Ard van der Steur on Thursday promised to look into this possibility and discuss this next month.

KRALENDIJK - In een gezamenlijke actie van de Kustwacht, de Koninklijke Marechaussee (KMar) en het Korps Politie Caribisch Nederland (KPCN) in de nacht van 28 op 29 november, zijn twee verdachten aangehouden en een hoeveelheid verdovende middelen, vermoedelijk cocaïne in beslag genomen.

AMSTERDAM--A 28-year-old Curaçao woman was shot to death on a bridge in Amsterdam Thursday morning. Rosleny Magdalena had just dropped her six-year-old child at school when, on the way back, she was gunned down by an unknown assailant.

PHILIPSBURG--Four young men suspected of committing armed robbery at Island Water World in Cole Bay on May 16 had their day in court on Wednesday morning. The Prosecutor’s Office demanded prison sentences for D.L.M. (21), T.P. (18) A.L.L. (20) and D.R.W. (19).

PHILIPSBURG - Former Curaçao police officer Gregory Koeiman (48) was arrested on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 by members of the St. Maarten Police Force, KPSM near his house in Simpson Bay.

PHILIPSBURG--Jewelry Avenue was the latest victim of a jewellery store robbery close to 1:00pm Thursday. Police managed to arrest two of four youngsters who assaulted store staff during the heist.
