Searches in connection with “Cucumber”-investigation

PHILIPSBURG - In connection with the ongoing investigation into the interception at sea of more than 200 kilos of a drug-like substance perceived to be cocaine by the Dutch Royal Navy in collaboration with the Caribbean Coastguard on Saturday, January 21, 2017, a number of searches were carried out on Sunday, January 22 and Tuesday, January 24 on both the Dutch side as well as the French side of St. Maarten.

Drugsonderschepping Zr. Ms. Holland na wilde achtervolging

PHILIPSBURG - Zr. Ms. Holland, het stationsschip van de marine dat op dit moment met een boarding team van de Kustwacht haar taken uitvoert in het Caribisch Gebied, heeft op zaterdag 21 januari, 220 kilo vermoedelijk cocaïne onderschept. In de afgelopen periode heeft de Holland al meerdere drugstransporten succesvol verstoord.

PHILIPSBURG - The suspect Francisco Corallo (56) remains in detention. The judge of instruction on Friday, December 15, 2016 deemed his detention lawful. Corallo was arrested on December 13 by the Anti-corruption Taskforce (TBO) of the Kingdom Detectives Cooperation Team (RST) at the request of Italian authorities.

Islands possibly added to Compensation Fund

THE HAGUE--Victims of violent crimes in Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba might very well become entitled to damages from the Compensation Fund of the Dutch Government in the future. Dutch Minister of Security and Justice Ard van der Steur on Thursday promised to look into this possibility and discuss this next month.

Aanhoudingen na actie tegen drugssmokkel bij Bonaire

Curaçao woman (28) killed in Amsterdam

AMSTERDAM--A 28-year-old Curaçao woman was shot to death on a bridge in Amsterdam Thursday morning. Rosleny Magdalena had just dropped her six-year-old child at school when, on the way back, she was gunned down by an unknown assailant.

Police apprehend two minors during robbery

PHILIPSBURG--Jewelry Avenue was the latest victim of a jewellery store robbery close to 1:00pm Thursday. Police managed to arrest two of four youngsters who assaulted store staff during the heist.
