Gedetineerde Yellow ‘voor eigen veiligheid’ naar St. Maarten

ORANJESTAD — De autoriteiten hebben de 30-jarige verdachte Milanchelo Trinidad alias ‘Yellow’ vorige week van gevangenis KIA naar de Point Blanche gevangenis in St. Maarten verplaatst. Dat gebeurde volgens het Openbaar Ministerie (OM) voor zijn eigen veiligheid. Hij werd in KIA ‘ernstig bedreigd’ door diverse medegedetineerden.

ORANJESTAD — Van de in totaal acht verdachten die op 26 oktober vorig jaar het Excelsior casino overvielen, heeft het Gerecht in Eerste Aanleg drie verdachten veroordeeld tot vijf jaar gevangenisstraf. Het Openbaar Ministerie (OM) beraadt zich over het instellen van hoger beroep tegen het vonnis dat een vierde verdachte kreeg opgelegd.

Parlement Curaçao wil vertrek Schotte na veroordeling

Hundreds turnout to bid Officer Boasman farewell

WILLEMSTAD – De rechter in Willemstad heeft vandaag voormalig premier van Curacao Gerrit Schotte (MFK) veroordeeld tot drie jaar onvoorwaardelijke celstraf en vijf jaar ontzetting uit het passieve kiesrecht. De rechter achtte alle feiten in de aanklacht bewezen en nam de hele eis van het OM over.

WILLEMSTAD - Oud-premier Gerrit Schotte van Curaçao hoort vandaag van de rechter óf en welke straf hij krijgt. Hij staat terecht voor onder meer ambtelijke omkoping, valsheid in geschrifte en witwassen. Het Openbaar Ministerie heeft drie jaar celstraf tegen hem geëist.
