Central Banks say there is no reason to worry

WILLEMSTAD--Both the Central Bank of Aruba (CBA) and the Central Bank of Curaçao and St. Maarten (CBCS) say there is no reason for policyholders of Dutch Caribbean insurance provider ENNIA to be concerned.

PDVSA to discharge crude cargo after swap agreement with BP

Venezuelan state-run PDVSA has discharged another cargo of U.S. crude sold by BP after waiting times of more than a month related to payment problems that were solved this month under a swap agreement, according to sources close to the deal.

De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) plaatst vraagtekens bij de integriteit van collega-toezichthouder CBCS op Curaçao. Het is zo’n puinhoop bij de Centrale Bank van Curaçao en Sint Maarten (CBCS) dat DNB extra bevoegdheden heeft gevraagd en heeft gekregen om op te treden op CBCS-grondgebied.

Verzekeraar Ennia leeggetrokken door eigenaar, polissen mogelijk onvoldoende gedekt

WILLEMSTAD - Ennia, de grootste verzekeraar van de Nederlandse Antillen, is uitgehold door zijn eigenaar. Op gespannen voet met de regels heeft de verzekeraar afgelopen jaren ruim driekwart van zijn reserves besteed aan twee omstreden deals met zijn eigenaar, de schatrijke Iraans-Amerikaanse zakenman Hushang Ansary.

Citgo to start Aruba refinery rehabilitation in August

IMF Executive Board Approves US$478 Million Stand-By Arrangement for Suriname
