Citgo Aruba working to restart 235,000-bpd refinery under lease -sources

HOUSTON - Venezuelan PDVSA's unit in the United States, Citgo Petroleum, is working to restart some processing units at the Aruba refinery under a 25-year lease contract with the government of the Caribbean island, sources at the facility and firms involved told Reuters on Saturday.

Geen vaste koers meer voor US dollar in Suriname

PARAMARIBO - De Centrale Bank van Suriname (CBvS) zal geen vaste koers meer bepalen voor de US dollar. De koers zal voortaan wekelijks worden bepaald op basis van vraag en aanbod tijdens zogeheten ‘valutaveilingen’ onder toezicht van de moederbank.

Venezuela’s PDVSA says consolidated debt dipped in 2015 to US $43.8 billion

CARACAS/WILLEMSTAD - Venezuelan state oil company PDVSA’s consolidated financial debt fell roughly 4.3 per cent in 2015 compared with the previous year to around US $43.8 billion, the company said on Friday, a figure that does not include debts to service providers.

Bank of America anticipates strong devaluation for bankrupt Venezuela

Curaçao’s economy grows as St. Maarten’s contracts

WILLEMSTAD/PHILIPSBURG - Economic developments differed between Curaçao and St. Maarten. While Curaçao recorded a modest expansion of 0.3 per cent in real output, St. Maarten’s economy contracted by 0.3 per cent in real terms in the third quarter of 2015, President of Central Bank and Curaçao and St. Maarten Emsley Tromp said in the Bank’s 2015 third quarter report.
