Capella lost summary proceedings against Curoil

The Court ruled yesterday that Curoil does not have to pay former director Gensley Capella any salary until a judgement is given in the basic procedure around his departure with the government NV. Moreover, Capella is to return the company car and fuel card.

A&P, DLA, and Milbank in Japanese loan to PDVSA

Curaçao back on watchlist human trafficking

 During the past year, the government of Curaçao has been unable to prove they made more efforts in tackling human trafficking and slave running compared to 2009. Therefore, the US had placed the country back on the ‘TIER 2 watchlist’.

PHILIPSBURG--It is very clear that the issue of a joint Central Bank with Curaçao and a joint currency has become "a lame duck, making it extremely important for each country to go it on their own," said Deputy Prime Minister Theo Heyliger in response to the Curaçao Parliament adopting a motion on Wednesday evening to instruct its government to establish its own Central Bank.

Curaçao Parliament votes for an own Central Bank

A motion calling for Curaçao to have its own Central Bank rather than having to share one with St. Maarten was adopted with eleven votes for and none against by Parliament yesterday evening, while a motion of no-confidence against Finance Minister George "Jorge" Jamaloodin (MFK) in connection with the controversy involving Central Bank director Emsley Tromp and members of the Schotte cabinet was rejected by eleven votes to eight.
