WILLEMSTAD – Advocaat Karel Frielink wil opheldering van minister Elmer Wilsoe over het huidige vreemdelingenbeleid. “In 2011 heb ik aandacht gevraagd voor het feit dat de overheid stelselmatig uitspraken naast zich neerlegt. Inmiddels moet worden vastgesteld dat de situatie sterk is verslechterd.”

Wilsoe: Bientu-investigation contravenes Repentance Regulation

WILLEMSTAD - The investigation by the Public Prosecutor into lottery boss Robbie dos Santos, the Bientu-case, contravenes the repentance regulation (Inkeerregeling) adopted by the Parliament last year. Minister of Justice, Elmer ‘Kadè’ Wilsoe (PS) wrote this in a letter to the Parliament yesterday.

WILLEMSTAD - Retired customs official Donald ‘Donny’ Balentina is to rectify the false imputations against Customs director Julian Lopez Ramirez and refrain from making any public statements ‘in any form’ that could tarnish Lopez Ramirez’ honor and good name. Lopez Ramirez recently demanded this in a lawsuit. The judge will give a decision on this case in June.

WILLEMSTAD - Het US district court for the district of Columbia in de Verenigde Staten heeft gisteren besloten dat het beslag op de banktegoeden van Robbie dos Santos voor 60 miljoen dollar gehandhaafd blijft. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly heeft gisteren besloten dat het verzoek van de Amerikaanse justitie om beslag te leggen dient te worden gehonoreerd.

WILLEMSTAD - Eén van de twee politieagenten die in 2006 Freddy Girigorie (toen 53 jaar) ernstig mishandelde en bij de grotten van Hato achterliet, heeft een lichte strafvermindering gekregen. De Hoge Raad kwam tot deze beslissing doordat de zaak, na ruim vier jaar, te lang heeft geduurd.
