PHILIPSBURG--The tentacles of the “Octopus” investigation continue to grab suspects. Four more suspects were hauled in Monday for questioning by the National Detectives in the ongoing investigation into election fraud (vote buying) in the August 2014 Parliamentary Elections.

ORANJESTAD - In de vroege uren van zaterdagochtend heeft de Kustwachtcutter Jaguar, op volle zee en buiten de territoriale wateren van Aruba, het onder Hondurese vlag varende vrachtschip Oceanic I geboard. Hierbij zijn de zeven opvarenden aangehouden en is ongeveer 1.200 kilo verdovende middelen, naar het zich laat aanzien cocaïne, in beslag genomen.

WILLEMSTAD — Telecombedrijf UTS heeft een werknemer ontslagen nadat er fraude was geconstateerd bij dochterbedrijf TDS. Dit bevestigt UTS-directeur Paul de Geus. De fraude hield in dat tal van personen een TDS-aansluiting kregen zonder dat zij hiervoor hoefden te betalen.

Oro Diamante trial to be heard April 13

Customs St. Maarten finds container with 1,000 kilos marijuana, no arrests yet

PHILIPSBURG - Customs officers on Sunday morning confiscated approximately 1,000 kilos of marijuana from a container that arrived from Jamaica. The drugs were found after a regular check on containers entering the harbour.

Scotiabank robber arrested in Tortola

WILLEMSTAD - Vandaag stond in de rechtbank in Willemstad de voormalige premier van Curacao Gerrit Schotte voor de rechter. Het Openbaar Ministerie beschuldigt Schotte van onder meer corruptie, valsheid in geschrifte en witwassen.
