Tax News: Assessment of foreign source income exemption by the Code of Conduct Group and the Taskforce Tax Legislation

At the end of January 2019, the "Code of Conduct Group" of the Council of the European Union has unfortunately found, as part of the assessment of the measures taken by Curaçao to meet its commitment to abolish the preferential tax regimes before the end of 2018, the introduction of the exemption for foreign source income to be harmful.

WILLEMSTAD - Het Hof heeft dinsdag 26 februari 2019 uitspraak gedaan op het hoger beroep tegen de weigering van de goedkeuring van het schuldeisersakkoord van InselAir. Ook het Hof heeft de goedkeuring (homologatie) geweigerd en de beslissing van de eerste rechter bevestigd.

Curacao refinery gets court order for unloading Venezuelan oil

WILLEMSTAD- A Curacao refinery has received a court order requiring shippers to discharge a cargo of Venezuelan oil seized by maritime companies due to debts owned by Venezuela’s state-run company PDVSA, Refineria di Korsou said in a statement on Monday.

Venezuela shuts border with Caribbean islands ahead of aid efforts
