De Nederlandse regering heeft met de besturen van Bonaire, Sint Eustatius en Saba een aantal initiatieven besproken om de sociaaleconomische situatie op de eilanden te verbeteren. In sommige gevallen zijn dit vraagstukken die de eigen draagkracht te boven gaan.

PHILIPSBURG - Today 20 year old J.J.W. was led before the judge of instruction. The judge considered both the arrest and the prolongation of the custody as lawful. Custody will now last until 15 October 2012, when a new decision on pre-trial detention will have to be taken.

PHILIPSBURG--Police have made a second arrest in the murders of South Carolina couple Michael and Thelma King. A press release from Chief Prosecutor Hans Mos stated that J.C.M. (17) had been arrested around 3:45pm Monday 1 October, after police carried out an intensive search last weekend and Monday.
Geen invoerrechten meer Curacao en Caribisch Nederland

Vanaf uiterlijk 1 november 2012 zijn geen invoerrechten of andere indirecte belastingen verschuldigd voor doorvoer van goederen tussen Curaçao en Caribisch Nederland. Staatssecretaris Weekers van Financiën en minister van Financiën Jamaloodin van Curaçao hebben een convenant getekend om te voorkomen dat er in bepaalde situaties dubbele belasting wordt geheven bij grensoverschrijdend goederenverkeer.
