ORANJESTAD - During Aruba Bankers’ Association’s general meeting held on April 30th, 2020 Sharon Fränkel-de Cuba, Managing Director of Aruba Bank N.V., was appointed President of the association for the coming two years.

PHILIPSBURG--Monetary economist Richard Doornbosch is expected to be appointed as the new President of the Central Bank of Curaçao and St. Maarten in mid-July, provided that the screening by the security services of Curaçao and St. Maarten has been completed successfully by that time.

PHILIPSBURG -- Op 17 februari 2020 heeft de Minister van Justitie van Sint Maarten mr. Hady Simon (Simon & Steenbaar Notarissen) en mr. Alba Chatlein (notariskantoor Chatlein) voor een periode van drie jaar benoemd tot lid resp. plaatsvervangend lid van de Kamer van Toezicht. Zij zijn beiden notaris te Curaçao.

Op donderdag 16 januari is voormalig strafrechtadvocaat Aliam (Ali) Moeniralam, ook wel 'Moenie' genoemd, op 94-jarige leeftijd overleden.

WILLEMSTAD - De interim-directeur van de Centrale Bank van Curaçao en Sint Maarten, de Nederlandse econoom Bob Traa (61), heeft zijn ontslag ingediend.

NEDERLAND - Bram Moszkowicz wil weer aan de slag als advocaat. De Maastrichtse oud-strafpleiter heeft daarvoor een verzoek ingediend bij de Orde van Advocaten.

WILLEMSTAD - De Rijksministerraad heeft op voorstel van minister Knops van Binnenlandse Zaken en Koninkrijksrelaties ingestemd met de herbenoeming van mevrouw L. A. (Lucille) George-Wout tot Gouverneur van Curaçao.
